Relocation is expensive. The very reason relocators opt for a DIY move. However, money can't buy life. Therefore, you must avoid moving alone, if you can. It is not safe, and I am saying it with my experience. I am Tarun Nayar. I am from Kanpur and working in Gurgaon with a leading corporate company. I moved several times due to my job. It was January 2007. I have to move to Kolkata from Kanpur. Despite having professional packers and movers in Kanpur option in hand, I opted for a DIY move to save some money, but I regret it today
So, the distance between Kolkata and Kanpur is 1,003.2 km. It takes around 22 to 23 hours to reach. My wife and I started out around 10 in the morning as the day was too foggy due to winter. We were feeling excited at the beginning. However, the cold was severe. Dense fog caused zero visibility. I took the wrong route many times. Seriously, the day tested my patience level.
It was around 9 in the night. We failed to find any better place to halt. So we decided to keep moving. However, that was another risk I took that day. I started feeling drowsy, but I failed to find any safe place to stop for a while. Also, there were roads with zero street lights that were really horrible. We met with an accident. We had minor injuries, but my car got damaged badly.
I had an option, but I neglected that put us at risk. Later I paid more to repair my car than the transportation price. Since then, I have been opting for professional moving services. Moreover, I recently shifted to Delhi with packers and movers in Lucknow whom I hired through LogisticMart, and it was a great experience.
